cuerators all your ears belong to us.

Lovely friends,
We are very proud to present the winner of Gilles Peterson’s (BBC) 2013 Worldwide Awards for ‘Best Breakthrough Act’, Australia’s Hiatus Kaiyote. If you happen to be one of the few remaining people that hasn’t heard of them yet, let us present our case to you now so you can understand how we, along with artists like Erykah Badu, the Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Mark de Clive Lowe and Flying Lotus have fallen in love with them. Ladies and Gentlemen, with your permission, we present how we became enchanted with Hiatus Kaiyote in seven links:
Exhibit A: The album that launched a million ships:

Exhibit B: Nai live in New York:

Exhibit C: The band with an unreleased track, live in their home-town of Melbourne:

Exhibit D: Probably one of our favorite Stevie covers done here live by Nai:

Exhibit E: Just before the band was awarded Best Breakthrough Act, Gilles Peterson interviewed Nai on BBC 6:

Exhibit F: The band demonstrating how creative and soulful they are by using various objects they found in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Items include: rocks, sticks and the antlers of some unknown beast:

Exhibit G: The band performing a song called ‘Jekyll’:

Oh, and perhaps their greatest accomplishment thus far, Nai and the band featured in her high-school’s newsletter:

We rest our case.
